Jesse & Joy - Qué Pena Me Da (Official Live Performance - Vevo)
Talent runs in the Huerta family. Both guitarist/vocalist Jesse and his singing sister Joy have united their skills since they were teens, recently reaching the kind of success that dreams are made of. In the wake of a handful of Latin Grammys, the sibs' 'Un Besito Más' album earned itself a US Grammy for 'Best Latin Pop' album two years ago. Makes sense – Jesse & Joy have dedicated themselves to music for almost two decades now. With a Mexican dad (who helped jump-start their songwriting) and a mom raised in Wisconsin, their musical perspectives were developed through double lenses. A touch of SoCal pop, some interest in trad Mexican folk music, and a cosmopolitan POV that filters everything from reggaeton to bachata helps shape their stylistic mix. Fans around the world fell for “3 A.M.,” their collab with Cuban heroes, Gente de Zona. We chose to have the duo impress us in a simple setting: just guitar and voices. Don’t miss their impressive spins on “Te Esparé” and “Qué Pena Me Da.”
Director: Bram VanderMark
Producer: Maddy Schmidt
Editor: Colton Fordyce
Audio: Jake Bolles
